Restoration, Conservation and Exhibits’ Mounting
For over twenty years, Luciano Fagnola has been combining his professionalism as a master bookbinder with the skills acquired in the fields of conservation and restoration at the Centro del Bel Libro in Ascona and at the Certosa in Florence. He also earned his official restoration and conservation qualification at the Istituto di Patologia del Libro and the Centro di Fotoriproduzione degli Archivi di Stato in Rome, in 1994 and 1999 respectively.
As an accredited restorer and conservator, he has collaborated in themounting of exhibitions comprising archives, books and more besides, including those that marked the reopening of the Queen’sVilla in Turin in 2007 and the Palace of Venaria Reale in 2008.
As well as conservation and restoration work, together with specialist staff of the Bottega, he oversaw the creation of reproductions and facsimiles intended for display or for educational activities in museums, not to mention the conditioning of restored works in containers with materials suitable for conservation, built according to the specific requirements of the pieces in question.
